Abstract

In October 2017 Kota Denpasar recorded deflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 125.58. The calendar year inflation rate stood at 2.01 percent. Year-on-year inflation rate (YoY) was recorded at 3.00 percent.

Deflation is indicated by the decrease of index in the foodstuff category by 1.12 percent; clothing by 0,31 percent; as well as the transport, communications and financial services by 0.38 percent.

The listed commodities contributed to deflation in October 2017 were chicken meat, spinach, bananas, long beans, onions, garlic, and air transport farres. Commodities experienced an increase in prices and kept the rate of deflation were rice, clove cigarettes filters, tuition fees academy / college, and sand.
